RWYC Post 1953 Firmin Button ID
Asking for help in confirming the identification of a button picked up recently in a mixed lot.
The button appears to have 'RWYC' and a Crown on it which I would normally assume to be Yacht Club related however with the lack of any anchor or similar nautical emblem I'm not so sure. Any thoughts appreciated. (Possibly for sale should it not meet my collecting field'. Regards Simon. |

Phil,
Many thanks, that was my initial thought but wanted to confirm with the lack of anchor etc. Regards Simon. |

I have it listed as Royal Windermere Yacht Club.
My information is from an old group of 1950s-1980s collectors. |

btns,
Many thanks for that extra information, explains why I couldn't find an exact match when comparing it to Royal Western Yacht Club examples online. Another one into the identified pile. Regards Simon. |

Interesting, both have the QC as their burgee. That must cause confusion at times.

Indeed Phil, confusing but then I find a lot of Yacht Club insignia confusing when trying to identify individual clubs. Not a lot of rhyme nor reason to the designs.
