It is a 15th Punjab Regiment officer's collar badge as worn between 1922 and 1947.

Simon, I thought this was the Sikh Regiment collar badge WW2 period pre-47, but can't confirm.

The 28th Punjabis had a similar cap/collar badge during the WW1 period, with 28 P on the cresent.

Lovely badge, Simon! And yes you're right about the regiment.
I have hallmarked collars to the 14th and 16th Punjabis and they seem to turn up quite often, but never see one to the 15th for some reason.
