Default Unknown Tank related badge

I bought this recently with some buttons, I have a feeling I've seen it before but I can't remember where?

Its about 3cm across.

If its WW2 vehicle related it may fit in my collection if not I may move it on.

Any info welcomed.

Rob

Hello Rob, what you have here is the French Army Motorised Troops general insignia worn pre-2nd WW and up to the 1940 campaign by troops in motorised units. Not rare but not uncommon these days.

Thank you Jo, that's great news, do you know where on the uniform it was worn?

Rob,if I remember correctly, sometime on the right breast, sometime worn on the fourragère within certain unit. There was also a modified insignia for the colonial troops (with an anchor)★ and one for the north african troops (crescent and star).✮

Thanks again Jo, I suspect mine could be smaller than the one shown on the uniform but I get the general idea.

Cheers
