From your first post the badge to the far right APC surmounted by KC is a British badge to the Army Pay Corps worn between 1902-20

The letters WAAC inside a laurel wreath is again British belonging to the Womens Army Auxiliary Corps worn between 1917-1918 I believe.

The latter is the foundation for the old joke amongst Tommy's:

Q: What's better than a slap in the face?

A: A WAAC on the knee.

Merci Luke!

So both the APC and the WAAC are British.

Good joke! héhéhé

Hello Bill.

Thanks a lot!

Second posting.
1. Canadian Army Veterinary Corps CEF collar badge.

It's quite big... like 47mm high... are you sure it's a collar?

Is the Mazeas book on badges of 1900-1914 good? (blue cover I believe?)

I really have to get both... Now I have the second book as a pile of photcopies... which is quite lame!

Default More pics of the remaining two...

Here's some more pictures of the remaining parts.

I was thinking maybe parts of an helmet...

The Flames could hold plumes.?

the lion... the end piece of a belt or strap?

or plainly not military at all.

I am lucky enough to have a couple of British Army DG's helmets - the 1847 and 1871 types. Whilst none of the items you show look like they are from either of these helmets, the Lions head could be the part of the chinstrap that connects to the helmet body - possibly French? and the flames - as you have mentioned - could be part of the plume base. The one on both of the British Army helmets is very deep - probably to keep the shape and take the weight.

Rgds, David

Hello Patrick,
With the measurement 47mm the Veterinary Corps item is a cap badge, not a collar.
Mazeas has two books, Insignes Canadiens/Canadian Badges 1920-1950, second edition is in a maroon / red cover, paper back. The other is Insignes de la Milice Canadienne / Canadian Militia Badges Pre 1914. The first is around and shows up on ebay frequently. It is also available from several dealers. I think Marway Militaria has some.

The 5th Royal Scots of Canada collar dates from pre-1904. In use from approx 1885. I have observed at least 2 different strikings.

Very nice haul, by the way.

It's really my first BIG haul...

The most badges I've found in the past was... maybe 10.

If you want to see them all.

The ones I will keep : Those are MINE!

The ones I need to sell : These must Go...

Enjoy!
