Britis badge in Dutch soil?
Goodday everyone,
An aquaintance of mine has recently found something in the Dutch soil, we believe is a military badge. I would like to ask for your help, for we think it may very well be British and lost during the liberation of Holland in WWII. Thank you in advance, byebye |

Hello,
The badge appears to be a fusiliers badge. 33mm could make it a collar or cap badge depending on the period. The lugs on the badge make me think collar. I have never seen that style of flame pattern on a British badge though. Anyone have a line of French badges? First thing I would do is find out what battles occurred in the location it was found and who fought in these battles along with the dates. This may make it a little easier to identify. I personally don't think it is WW2, maybe WW1 or earlier. Regards, Michael

Thanks,
It´s got a sort of seashell shape, still it looks like a burning grenade. The sides don´t have the same shape, which would be the case with a seashell. |

I like Ard-rie's comment about it being WW1 and not British and it's not Canadian. Ray
