Default Britis badge in Dutch soil?

Goodday everyone,

An aquaintance of mine has recently found something in the Dutch soil, we believe is a military badge. I would like to ask for your help, for we think it may very well be British and lost during the liberation of Holland in WWII.

Thank you in advance, byebye

Hello,

The badge appears to be a fusiliers badge. 33mm could make it a collar or cap badge depending on the period. The lugs on the badge make me think collar. I have never seen that style of flame pattern on a British badge though. Anyone have a line of French badges? First thing I would do is find out what battles occurred in the location it was found and who fought in these battles along with the dates. This may make it a little easier to identify. I personally don't think it is WW2, maybe WW1 or earlier.

Regards, Michael

Thanks,

It´s got a sort of seashell shape, still it looks like a burning grenade. The sides don´t have the same shape, which would be the case with a seashell.

I like Ard-rie's comment about it being WW1 and not British and it's not Canadian. Ray
