Hi Gents,

So here are some images of my latest framing efforts. The badge in question is my 50th Gordons Draft. This for me was a little tricky as despite the badge being one of my favorites it is not what one would call 'flash', so creating a frame that would look great but (hopefully) not overwhelm the badge but draw the eye to it, was something of a challenge.

After a number of attempts I'm pretty pleased with it, so now it is on my wall and easier to enjoy - a fitting and important addition to my 'art' gallery

Cheers, Roy.

Default frame

Roy,

Did you make the frame?
If so then you are a real craftsman.

John

Hi John,

I'm afraid I can not claim such skill..

I'm always on the lookout for frames I like from local hobby shops or second hand stores. As with this one in its original form it didn't work for me, so took all the garbage/fitting off the back and rebuilt it up to work for me. Quite a bit of work in its own right but as long as the basic frame looks good then that is all the really hard work done.

I really quite like these ornate frames and the old world look they have to them. Despite being quite modern they do look the part and I'm a little old fashioned so enjoy the classical look once finished.

Cheers, Roy.

Hi Roy,

I like that ornate work as well and I must say that kind of frame really sets the badge(s) off.

The best
John

Hi John,

Thank you for those kind words. It's nice to know my efforts such as they are, are appreciated by more than just me.

I'm pleased with the end result, now for giving some thought to the next project..

Cheers, Roy.

Okay Chaps,

Here's my latest frame-up - not Canadian in this instance but wanted to keep my 'Art Gallery' all on the same thread.

I have a few Black Watch of Canada badge but they got beat out this time for my favorite WWI officers BW badge.

Put a little time into this one but pleased with the efforts. One more for the wall..!

Cheers, Roy.

Roy,

You are doing very well finding these wonderful small Victorian frames.
An excellent result.

Thanks for that Simon,

Although I have to admit the frames aren't period but modern (from my local hobby shop). Hover; a) there are not expensive and b) they are actually quite nice quality and certainly look the part.

Cheers, Roy.
