Default Port Arthur Police (China )

Have a look at Lot 11540 in statusint.com - a w/m badge purporting to be that of the Port Arthur Police,a " British Protectorate " c 1910.Perhaps it was Treaty Port with an International flavour, similar to Shanghai etc but it appears most famous for Japanese and Russian connections.Badge described as 'scarce'.Any views ?

Port Arthur was a town in Ontario, Canada. It has now joined together with other municipalities in the area and is now known (I think) as Thunder Bay. It's amazing how inaccurate (accidentally?) auctioneers can be. Even if you tell them what the item is, they invariably ignore you. Presumably because they don't like the truth. It's not good for furious bidding!

hi guys
how about the prices in this auction? did i read the lower estimate is the minimum bid? these auctions are never very successful for status. fromwhat i have been told, past auctions are around 75% unsold.

No bargains to be had here!

From what I have been told, their reserve prices are their retail prices!

I believe what they can't sell through their shops ends up being listed in the Status Auctions.
