Brodie helmet insignia?
Hello,
I have a Brodie helmet that has an insignia painted on that I can't locate any information on. I hope someone can help me -- I HAVE LOOKED EVERYWHERE!! I am still lokking through this site but so far no luck and there is a lot to dig through. I'm not even a hundred percent sure this is a British or Commonwealth insignia but I think it is. It is a Red shield with I think a white Acorn branch or oak leaf branch painted in white. It looks like it has been painted over something as well -- maybe a white shield. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Last edited by SVT40; 15-08-11 at 10:58 PM. |

Brodie helmet insignia
This is the formation sign of the Irish Army's Curragh Command. Unusually, given the vintage of the helmet, Curragh Command was formed on 20 June 1977. It is possible that the same formation sign was used by the Curragh Training Camp - the organisation that preceded Curragh Command.
