Default Divers Cloth WW2 and just after

These are some of the Divers Cloth badges in my collection,does anyone know anything about the small badge with " S " underneath,Cheers Bob.

Similar to U.S Army salvage diver but they are usually 'subdued' olive green/black.

"S" could be for "Ships"

I as well have a similar badge that I believe is RCN dating around 1950s - 1960s.

I cannot find this particular badge anywhere. The Maple Leaf is consistent with RCN badging.

The S is for Salvage and was worn by the US Navy
A helmet with no numbers or letters would be pre-1944. In that year marks were added for Diver 2nd Class (2) and Salvage Diver (S), necessitating a mark for Diver 1st Class (1). Master Diver (M) was, I believe, previously established. Later marks added would be Deep Water (D) and Scuba Diver (SD). All were gradually made obsolete from the early 70s
