I hope I can be excused for wishing God is with our Queen on this anxious day. Regards, Paul.

Paul, I share your sentiments. She is a great Lady, and even as an American, I have only the highest respect for her.

Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, has died at Balmoral aged 96, after reigning for 70 years.
"May She Rest in Peace" .

Allow me to also write a short note.... even here in Germany, her reign has accompanied my life since birth, I have the greatest respect for her life's work and that of the royal family in these years.
United with Prince Philipp, may she rest in peace, she will never be forgotten. Markus |

I had the deepest respect for Queen Elisabeth II.
She was the last of the world’s sovereigns to have served during ww2. RIP your Majesty. ![]() |

While I was living in England (2007-2011), I took advantage of being there for visiting former free french navy sailors having married british ladies during ww2, then having settled in UK.
Visiting once one of these veterans in Cornwall, I was deeply impressed to see a framed message from Queen Elisabeth II & prince Philip, at the honor place in their living room, sent to this veteran & to his english wife, to congratulate them for their 50th wedding anniversary. Something you would never receive here in France... This gesture, how it was received by the recipients, deeply positively impressed me. I still remember of this, and how proud this veteran still was when showing me this message from his Queen (unfortunately his wife had passed away a few years before). Queen Elisabeth II, and her mother, were in the hearth of a lot of my f.f. veterans. Very sad day indeed. Last edited by Lemataf; 08-09-22 at 08:18 PM. |

I would venture to say that never has there been a more loved and appreciated person. She represented the best of Britain and the world will not be the same again.

I’ve just read Boris Johnson’s tribute to Her Majesty. Whatever your politics or opinions of him , you have to admit he has a way with words. Pitch perfect.
God save the King. |
