Default Women's Air Force Caps

Greetings!

I wonder if someone could please identify these caps. While obviously air force, are they WAAF, RCAF Women's Division or both? Would there happen to be a formal name/description for each type? Beyond the obvious difference indicated by the cap badge crowns, are there specific time periods when they were worn?

I had seen this thread, but, it did not appear to answer my questions, or at least left me a little confused!

Badger,

The first hat, on the left is an officer's cap 1939-49. The second cap is an officer's cap 1998 to the present.

Hope that helps,

Terry

Thanks for the input, Terry. One clarification though: Are these specific to RCAF WD or WAAF/RAF? Or did/do both use them?

Badger,

My reference on hats is just RAF, so I can't say about the Commonwealth. Sorry I can't be more help than that,

Terry

Perfect, good to know your reference point. I've seen no examples like these when searching the Canadian side, yet, these are in Canada, so, maybe that's telling. Thanks again for your assistance.

Glad I was able to help. I have found that all sorts of militaria crosses the pond, so RAF items in the US or Canada would not surprise me.
