Default "Lest We Forget"

Just watched the Festival Of Remembrance , will be off to Cenotaph in the morning.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

"Absent Friends"

Remember that they gave their tomorrows so we could have our today’s.
Lest we forget.

Weather was good , large crowd and so many proud men , women and children marching past the Cenotaph.

Most touching moment was when 3 Chindits veterans were helped out of their wheelchairs so that they could 'march' past the monument.

In France, a very important day. In the Village I live in, which is small, they read out the names of every person from the village killed from WW1 onwards.

I will follow up with a few pics of the local military who attended for anyone interested. I know precious little of French insignia, but I understand these are Engineers from the nearest Army base, which is in Nîmes.

Lest we forget

Hi Tim

Great photos! All well with you?

Somewhere I have a photo (from 1982!) of two CRS guys in the Champs Elysees on either 14 July or 11 November.

Standing side-by-side, one is a slightly built guy, the other a real planet. Made me think of Laurel and Hardy...
