Default Lancashire foreign service helmet badge ?

Hello folks
Amongst a small job lot i recently acquired was the badge in the pics
I've searched and searched as to what it was originally and having read the long informative thread on pagri/fsh badges im inclined to lean towards the opinion it may have been used for the fsh,its just the size of the badge that is throwing me (75mm long x 40mm wide) and the extended slider which appears to be period workmanship.
Thoughts on it most welcome
Regards
Magu

Default Lancs Fusilier FSH

I have a couple of these that both had the slider broken, I see yours has been repaired in roughly the same place, could this be a deliberate act or did they just have a design fault.

Hi Rob
I also have a Wiltshire helmet plate centre with a virtually identical slider with two very small holes at 6 and 12 o'clock punched through the rim...were these for stitches to hold the badge in place on a pagri ?

Magu, Its a fusilier glengarry badge (rather than a fur cap) and is shown in KK. Its the long slidered version and my understanding is the long slider was so that it could be slipped into the folds of the helmet.
There is a Northumberland Fusiliers version in my Northumberland Fus album.
