Default Manitoba Mounted Rifles

Good day,

I have a Manitoba Mounted Rifles cap badge (lugged) that was part of my father's collection that I inherited in 2001. The badge looks like a solder repair was started and the clean-up part was not completed.

I know that it is a supposedly difficult badge to find, and I'm just trying to figure out a way forward as its' not really in my areas of interest (WWII Canadian Army Northwest Europe and Sicily/Italy, Commonwealth Airborne, RCEME / pre-RCEME, Canadian Army in Korea and Artificer & Canadian Trades badges).

I'd like to put this out for discussion:
a. what have I got, in its' present state;
b. opinions whether to clean up the solder, or leave it as-is;
c. Interest out there in this badge.

Thanks,
Steve J.

Its a very collectable badge, too bad about the solder, a jeweler may be able to help, it would not be do it yourself project, in my experience a professional is always the best with this type of repair.
