Question REME Apprentice Badge

Hi All,

Picked this up locally - I think it might be a REME Apprentice Badge? Any ideas gratefully appreciated Also any idea of a timeline?

It is the qualification badge for Smith,Articifer,Armourer,Fitter,Vehicle Mechanic,Toolmaker etc ( British Army Proficiency Badges - Edwards and Langley 2A page 10).

Not sure I have ever seen one before which appears to be cast
