Interesting Special Constabulary Badge
Picked this badge up recently and thought it was quite nice. The diameter is 35mm and overall height to top of crown is 49mm. Well marked maker. Was the button type fitting on back designed for a lapel or possibly a fob type hanger? Pre WW2?
all input is appreciated Best Jack

Hi Jack,
Designed to be worn in lapel on civvies, there are lugged badges for caps made in bronze finish and chrome. There are also chrome officer badges backed with a star. Also, made with different coloured crowns. If you want to look at my examples, please send me a friend request and my album will be available to you. Phil

Phil, that is a nice group of Police/Constab related badges. The Metropolitan Police Commissioner's cap badge is quite impressive. Thanks for the link.
Best Jack

Thank you Jack, I do love that Commissioners badge, it was a forum trade and I am still very grateful to the member who agreed to swap it.
I have another couple of police albums too, those related to UK defence and overseas base defence. Phil
