Default Seaforth highlanders CEF titles

Hi guys,

My first purchase of this year. Can I please have your opinions on these titles and dates worn please?

I thought there was a makers mark on the back between the A & N but it doesn't look like it.

Thanks in advance, Bill

Addition:

Just managed to see TIPTAFT stamped between the A & N with a magnifying glass. Sorry but images seem to have turned themselves around

Hello Bill, The Tiptaft shoulder titles are attributed to the 72nd CEF Battalion. This would date them to the First World War.

Hi Bill,

I thought that was the period but am still learning about the various makers and especially CEF items. Is that kind of fastener normal for that period or is it maker specific?

Thanks again for sharing your wisdom with me once more.

regards, Bill

IIRC the tangs are associated with O.B. Allan, a Vancouver badge maker, which is where the 72nd was raised. (Some other makers used tangs as well.)
