Hi Didier

They are both missing 1 loop, but they are in very good condition and just crying out for a good polish The "short" loops indicate to me that they were worn without a liner and were fixed staright onto a shoulder strap with cloth strips through the loops (I have the remnants of a cloth strip on my post 1844 shoulder scale below).

Below is my post 1844 "Prince Albert's Own Leicestershire Yeomanry Cavalry" other ranks Troop example. The PAOLYC had army blue liners under their shoulder scales ....as you can see.

I have also got a pair of pre 1844 scales (shown right), showing the different button prior to becoming "Prince Albert's Own". All the Shoulder scales were made by J R Gaunt in London (also shown in the Gaunt catalogue of 1900 in the antiquarian section).

Quartermaster J. Kirk of the Leicester Yeomanry Cavalry [Light Dragoons], 1841 (Showing the shoulder scales).

I have just had a look and its another bandsmans shoulder scale..... the scales have a different pattern on them and its gilt..... so it is a senior regiment..... once I see the button it should confirm the Regiment for me
