Weird "British" wing
This one was sold on EBay yesterday for 301 euros. It was identified as Belgian WW2 5th SAS - which would make it a British wings since at that point there wasn't a Belgian wing yet.
I have a similar one here. Initially I thought this was a fantasy or fake, but when something sells at this price and there were biddings from various people, I start to think there must be something "genuine" about it. You wouldn't bid that much knowing it is a fake or fantasy, right? Anyway, if anybody has got more info on it, please let me know. Cheers, Alain

Didn't even know that. I contacted him and asked why he identified it as Belgian. He told me he had a similar one sewn on a BD dated 1944 with the appropriate 5 SAS badges upon it.
As a Belgian I have never seen this wing before. It also doesn't fit the construction of Belgian wings. We had a few versions where the wings touch the lines in the middle (like this one) but they are smaller. The current wings differ from British wings in touching the bottom of the lines at the bucket. So it could be British, but it differs a lot from the "standard" wing we all know of. Remains a mystery.

I'm not sure you should believe what this seller says
Many of his badges are copies or are not correct with description For example he is selling free French SAS badges https://www.ebay.fr/itm/145567352204...kAAOSwNfdlrR-w But this French title was bought on Ebay some weeks ago and is not a correct free French SAS title https://www.ebay.com/itm/39505959418...MAAOSweaRleMRQ So for me take care and keep your money ??

Well, I wasn't the one who bought one of these wings. I got mine for only 4,5 euro :-). But then the question remains : why would somebody (twice) pay that amount of money if you're not sure you're buying something genuine. And several people made a bid, not that one "idiot" would pay that much.That really puzzles me.

Two things come to mind.
First the bidders believed it to be real, and as described. I suspect we've all been there at some point, but hopefully for not as much money. I know I have as I have a box of duds to prove it. This is why I feel very blessed to have found this forum and to be accepted on it. Second, the old adage - A fool and his money are soon separated. Only in this case I suspect it would be more the unknowing. Terry
