England won "Ugly" today.... a wins a win.... but lets see them with tougher opposition

Namibia had a good match against Fiji..... I saw nothing that makes me think that Fiji can turn us over again That Namibian 10 will be signed up my a British club very shortly.... I am sure.

Scotland needs a real test..... letting Romania take the points they did is a bit worrying ..... if I were a Scotsman that is.

I enjoyed the Japan v France game as well...... Japan put up a good fight.

I am hoping the Welsh Gods are with us tomorrow...... its about time for the first tournament upset!!

Though being French , I'm a proud and absolute supporter of the Scottish team. Scotland rules!!

Griff, the French played as ugly as the English but the game was pleasant.

I thought the French were going to go into that "Gaulic meltdown" thing they do every now and then....... that would have been a massive shock if the Japanese took the win. Give them their due.... the Japanese, at times, looked on equal terms.

I really hope the Scots have a good RWC...... they deserve at least one good result..... hopefully second in the group.

Well Wales put up a good fight and dominated most of the game, luckily us South Africans don't die easily. Well done to Wales. Go Springboks!

Hooks second kick was good..... that did go between the sticks..... as usual.... the Welsh hating Wayne Barnes knackers the game for us. I thought the attacking side was meant to have the advantage!!!! Last 6 mins was GIVEN to SA by the bloody "Saes" ref.

SA didnt win it...... "we" lost it. We missed that drop goal and Hooky missed, for him, a sitter.

We will take it to the Samoans now.... and put them to the sword!

Very "silent" Bocks today....... even Francois Piennar says Hooks second kick was over and should have been given!

Great report from the New Zealand Herald:-
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/rugby-worl...ectid=10751167

IRB on damage limitation for "Numpty" Ref Wayne Barnes:-
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugb...h/14877512.stm

Rules:-
"Under protocol, the referee may consult the assistant referees or the television match official if he is unsure as to whether a penalty kick, drop-goal or conversion has been successful."

See the kick in slow mo here:-

Daily mails report:-
Wales get a kick in the teeth after penalty heartbreak against South Africa

I was waiting for somebody else to mention it but seeing as no one has... Australia 6 Ireland 15...,

Come the day and come the hour...

Ireland, Ireland
Together standing tall
Shoulder to shoulder
We'll answer Ireland's call

From the mighty glens of Antrim
From the rugged hills of Galway
From the walls of Limerick
And Dublin bay
From the four proud provinces of Ireland ...

Quis Separabit, in rubgy!

Massive game for the Irish (very like the Welsh game but with a positive outcome!).

Looks like a Wales v Ireland Quater final That will be a match to watch!

Brilliant effort from the Canadians.... they matched the French for a full 60 mins. Keep it going CANADA..... you need to work on that last 20 mins

Thats the best start to a weekend I have had for a long time....... Wales prevailed against the Irish.... with no doubt about who was best on the day.

The complacent English took the French to be a spent force ........ and made the fatal mistake of relaxing their guard! Now that England are gone I shall enoy the ITV coverage a bit more..... I was getting a bit tired of the gut wrenching hyperbole from the panel on Englands behalf!
