Default Essex Regiment Sweetheart

Is the attached an Essex Regiment Sweetheart or something to do with an Essex local government organisation.

Not Essex Regiment.

It appears to be two pseudo Essex Imperial Yeomanry badges, not individual items joined together after manufacture but constructed in one piece.

However, a true badge to this unit would be probably die stamped and voided in the crown

I would hazard a guess at Sweetheart item.

Regards.

Brian

Oooooops silly me.

What a doughnut I am.

Forgot to add collar before the word badge, a badge for headgear is something similar, enclosed in a circlet, but with the crown on the outer rim of said circlet.

Regards

Mr.Silly.

Possibly Essex Police related. They had very similar badges to the EIY pattern but of a smaller size.

How tall are these ones please?

Being K/C and brass, I doubt they are Essex Police. Essex Police were formed in 1974. If it was Essex Constabulary it would, most probably, be chrome or w/m.

You're right, I should have said Constabulary. I throw it in the mix as the following lapel badge was offered recently at Lockdales and it was confirmed to me as being police related and certainly not Essex IY as postulated by the auctioneer.

Thank you to everyone for your help. the badge is exactly 30mm high. For info, the finish is superb - gilded.

It doesn't look like a one-piece construction badge to me, it looks like two collar badges soldered onto a 'fitted' brass backing plate and then perhaps gilded. You can see where the edge of the backing plate sticks out on the inside of the right hand crown.
Cheers,
Alex

Default Constructed of multiple pats

I can confirm the badge part are joined to a back plate. Looks like it was done in a factory and not made up even by a professional jeweler.
