Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the maple leaf signifying overseas service.
No doubt a Canadian forum member can give you chapter and verse.

Billy, not 100%, but although small, the maple leaf was silver. Regards Mark

Hello Mark definitely Silver as has gone Black, am not selling (can place it with my small Canadian badges? or give it a better home, but haven't worked out how best to do this without causing myself hassle?) but what price would I expect to pay for these?

Billy, you would be better hanging on to it. It’s more rare than the full medal equivalent (which is a “bar” on the ribbon). I did think it strange that you have shown it solo as it would definitely have been on a ribbon bar with other awards. Regards, D.J. In addition, I feel that the medal itself (in .800 silver) is the most beautifully embellished medal Canada ever issued!

At 81, I’m still learning! Thank you for the correction, should have not assumed but read a little more. Best regards, D.J.

And further to my last post, I saw a uniform on display at the recent CSMMI show in Toronto, showing ONLY the medal ribbon for the CVSM which now throws into doubt my first post in this thread! Regards, DJ.
