David,

A couple of points, firstly it looks to have no age to it, secondly ir appears to have brass hexi lugs in the same metal as the badge?

May just be the photo, but I am not convinced its genuine.

regards

Hi Simon, by "the same metal as the badge" did you mean as a casting? The two separate lugs are brass, as is the title. If you look closely at the fourth photo', you will see that the lug extends out and up slightly from the rear of the letter "E". It was with many other titles, British, Canadian and foreign. I had not a clue what it was but I did polish it once with jewelers rouge, when I first got it about 30 years ago at auction, and noted that the brazing was of a slightly different colour than the lugs/badge. It was with 49 other pieces, badges, titles, Indian cast badges etc.etc. A job lot of what I thought was mostly junk but acquired only for the fact it had three different Indian Artillery hat badges. Interesting to me was the fact I've since sold three of the pieces of "Junk", one even to a member here! Hence, My Indian Arty badges cost me nothing! Thank you for your opinion re the Benbow title, not my field but certainly would not offer it for sale with any doubts attached to it. Best regards, David J.
