Default Mercian Regiment

Good afternoon,

It looks like a Mercian Regiment cloth beret badge but sewn on a green backing. Could you confirm this identification ?

The ‘Lincoln Green’ colour is associated with the previous Worcestershire & Sherwood Foresters Regiment (and before that the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire (Sherwood Foresters) Regiment). As the cadet units are all County based I imagine that the badge refers to the cadet units within Worcestershire and Nottinghamshire that are affiliated with, and wear the badge of, the Mercian Regiment.

Its Derbyshire ACF. Notts cadets are issued with the metal badge.

Thank you, that’s great. I’d meant to mention Derbyshire. In essence referring to the connection with a County once associated with the WFR, and so hence the Lincoln Green.
