Default VIII Recce Officer's Beret with Bullion Badge

As my first post here, I thought there might be some interest in this item.
To my knowledge this is the only example in existence.
It would have been worn by a very high ranking officer, most likely the CO.
The WD stamp dates manufacture to 1944.

I agree, that is a stunning looking bullion badge, very nice. ANyone would be exceptionally pleased to have that one in their collection.

However, I would be careful not to make the assumption it was a high ranking officer that wore it without more investigation. The only genuine bullion 1CACR "Kangaroo" badge I know of was purchased and worn by a Lieutenant. Ordered and made/purchased while on leave in London, it WAS NOT well received by his CO and as such, did not become the regimental officer's fashion...

I have seen similar bullion for British regiments, fairly sure Car Commander found the London company that made them to order.
