Default Northumberland Fusiliers-Egypt

I like this one cos some of them are looking a bit fed up and disheveled, also I have a nice sand cast NF badge that could be from Egypt so it kind of appealed. It's labelled Garrison Battalion Egypt.

Ha! The two poor fellas in the front certainly look like they've had enough current bun for one campaign!

Lovely!

Matey (front-centre) has had enough and wants to go home. He DEFINITELY does not want to play any more.

He's hot, he's tired, he's homesick, he's got sand in places he didn't know he had and he's wearing a daft hat, bless him, he's entitled to have a look on his face that only a mother could love. Aah I hope they all made it home

Well yeah, stupid question really I'll pick one up some time. It's not top of the list though. Got to stop buying expensive books, just bought a history of the NF in WW1 for £40, was a bargain I've seen it for £60. Oh and I've got that medal on hold

Miserable looking bunch indeed. Probably already spent all their piastres at the Rue des Soeurs, and it's off-pay week.

Just noted this one, as it's been a busy week for me. They're actually members of the 2/7th Bn, NF - who were posted to Egypt in Jauary 1917.

Thank you very much for that picture, now I'll have "nightboat to Cairo" in my head for the rest of the week.
