This arrived today and I thought I would share the picture, I have seen the metal version once or twice but never this beret badge.

I take it that the word relates to wire embroidered badges?

The meaning of the word "Zari" - a type of gold thread used decoratively on Indian clothing, as stated on the Google website.

'Tres chic', as the French would say. BTW, the 43rd still exist or, more accurately, exist again as the 43rd Armoured Regiment of the Army of Pakistan.
