Default 64th Medium Regt RA

Hopefully somebody out there can help me?

I've just come into possession of my Grandfathers WW2 medals and want to display them properley incorporating the shoulder flashes, battle patches, beret badges etc.......

I'm looking for the battle patches of the 64th Medium Regt RA of which he was a member. I've managed to locate a Pegasus Patch but no Battle Patches as of yet as I don't know what they look like.

I've have a suspicion that it will be a blue and red rectangle with a 64 on it but I'm not too sure! Am I barking up the wrong tree here?

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks

David

64th (London) MEDIUM REGIMENT RA

A charging black Elephant on a red background, the formation badge of the IV Corps. Permission granted to continue wearing the badge after leaving the Corps.
Worn from 1940 to 1946.

Also;

A large cloth badge depicting Bellerophon astride the winged Horse Pegasus in light blue on a maroon background.
Worn on the lower right sleeve of the Battle Dress Blouse.
Awarded in 1944 by the Commander Airborne Forces for the Regiments support of the 1st Airborne Division.

Also;

The cloth shoulder designation ROYAL ARTILLERY in red on blue.

Possibly the red and blue arm of service strip.

Sorry to confuse things but there is a pic in the B L Davies book that shows a member of 64MR wearing a 2nd Army flash at the top of the right sleeve and the pegasus at the bottom, it doesn't give a date but must be after Sept 44, was the 4 Corps badge worn on the other sleeve or at a different time?

Stand corrected. Seems we have two differing sources, but, pictures speak louder.

Default regarding 64th medium regiment insignia.

Hi all, have seen some posts concerning 64th medium regiment ,i actually have my uncles battledress and it has the usual RA shoulder flash ,red on black ,then the 30 corps boar,and about inch further down the elephant black on red ,both charging to the center. jacket dated 1945 so no pegasus as this was denied by the war office. regards Phil.

Phil,

Welcome to the Forum. If possible a photo of the BD arm would be of great interest to us all.
