Default Two artillery badges

Good afternoon, gentlemen. I want to get these two badges. I ask for your opinion on the originality. Thank you in advance. Alexander.

Hello Alexander

The CADET badge is a 1970s fake and can be easily distinguished by the orb superimposed above the crown, the so-called 'tall orb' fakes. The other obvious points are the truncated end to the scroll bearing DUCUNT, and the die fault inside the trail handle, the 'tick in the box'. The font and excessive seeding in the scrolls is another dead giveaway.

The CANADA badge appeared at least as early as 1911 and can be seen worn on the forage cap by men of the Non-Permanent Militia artillery in lieu of the full-sized gun badge. It was also worn as a collar badge during the Great War. I'm not sure that there was a specific authority for it, the Canadian collectors might be able to tell you more.

Keith

There are enough of the Canadian ones on the market to wait for a better one. The one you show is not in great shape and I suspect it’s authenticity. As I do the “Cadet” one. Good luck!
