I have found a Hilda Alice Wiffin, born 1919, who died in 2008 at Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire. She is of the right age group to have been an A.T.S. girl.

In answer to your previous post I sadly have no idea where it came from, it seemed so insignificant that I did not even record it.............. Your tenacity to get to the bottom of a mystery is to be commended and I thank you, without your information it would have gone back into the "Don`t Know" box in the very near future. The search goes on. Regards Kevin |

Thanks, a small item with a lot of background. It does not have any marks on it to suggest it may have been flattened so original I believe. Kevin |

Kevin,
Just a thought - when ever I wnat to change he shape of a piece of metal I will wrap the item in soft cloth and have a special pair of pliers so I don't put any marks on the metal. Not saying that is what was done, but possible. As has already been said, the idea of it being an ID plate of some kind is probably more accurate. Terry |

All possibilities are worth considering until I can safely put this one to bed, but once again thank you for your thoughts and reply. Best wishes Kevin |
