Default WW2 Hampshire Regiment headdress?

Hello, I'm putting together a display of a typical WW2 infantryman's kit. Can anyone inform me, what a Corporal, in the Hampshire Regiment, in 1944, shortly after D Day would have worn as headdress other than his steel helmet?

Regards

Tony

He would have been issued a GS hat. https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/cloth...diculous-3789/

Otherwise known as "caps, ridiculous" or "caps, shapeless". An unfortunate article of dress in my opinion. As always, surely some that had an FS cap managed to retain it even though replaced.
