Default Airborne strips, a query.

Hi, I know that printed Airborne strips have a particular style of font or lettering and that there were minor variations in these letters but was there any variation in the size. In other words although there are distinctions that don't change as in the shape of the letter 'O', could the lettering in different titles be slightly larger or were they all of a uniform size? Thanks for looking,

Paul

Hi Paul

They are all pretty much identical. I will post some examples tonight.

The main thing to look for in an original is an oval "O"

Thanks for that Jack. Am I correct in saying then that all the printed strips should be practically the same as in letter size and shape, eg if you placed two together as in your third pic with the 'A's adjacent to each other, the 'E's would also end up adjacent to each other, as in your pic. There are no variants where the size and gaps in the lettering would cause the 'E' to end up being a few mm further to the right? Hope that makes sense, cheers,

Paul

Please note that recently replicas are appearing on ebay that show the proper oval shaped O.

Only airborne strips made by Pegasus Militaria are easy to identify by the deliberately wrong round O.
