Royal Scots and Royal Scots Guards
Hi,
I am suspicious of all three of these officers badges. There is no green enamel behind the thistle on either. They have been substituted with green glass and green backed paper. The scots guards has die floors around the wording on the p and the 'e' and I do not think it was ever made in all white metal or silver. I will be returning them for refund. What is the opinion of the forum ? All comments welcome. |

The two officer/staff badges look genuine but missing the green enamel plate, as you mentioned, probably lost during cleaning or something. The Scots Guards badge is also missing the lower end of the star ray at the bottom of the badge.
Can't comment on the WM / plated O/Rs badge. Cheers, Alex |

Enamelling is a problem on all this type of badge, and have heard of Quality Street wrappers being used! Once Enamel has gone how do you get replacements, have this issue on Irish Guards badges, and a Few others English and Scottish.
I think all three are fine though Scots Guards in Silver or White Metal? In the hand may alter, I’d be happy with them all though, wouldn’t rush to return, hopefully you may get a better understanding on the Silver Scots Guards later? All the best Billy |

Thanks Billy, I have returned two of the badges and exchanged them for something different, I am happy now with what I exchanged them for. Just was not happy with the damaged officers and the white metal.
Regards, Jim |
