The TS is a restrike in my opinion. The Victorian era Dorsetshire and RE are good. Hereford LI and 50-52 Commando are fakes.

The TS are still worn so it could be modern but correct for a TA Gunner or cadet.

Indeed. However, to my eyes the two-tone grey colour of the reverse looks possibly like chemical ageing and being caked in old polish is another classic repro-er ploy.

When it comes to the modern re-issue of badges like this and the Kimbolton School unless you obtain one from direct from the wearer / cadets it’s for me it’s infinitely more likely to be a repro since certainly in the case of Kimbolton they have bought direct from the repro-ers.

Another one of the many reasons why I don’t collect past 1952.

The ME commando badge is a bit odd as it seems to show some sort of notches on the lugs? I don't suppose you can upload some better close ups?

Yes the notched loops are quite a well known fake. Notches will be both sides of each loop.
