Default 1 CANPARA badge aged

The seller is known to sell reproductions, this badge has been aged a bit to look the part. Someone paid way too much for it.

£93 for a garbage repro. I wonder how much, if any research e-buyers do before spending good money?
Note the main issues, slider and voided. Neither on an authentic OR's badge.

I agree, the initial sighting of the slider on the back should have sent potential buyers running!

Is that simply because it should have lugs, or because of the shaping of the slider?

Thanks.

Original other ranks Can Para Corps badges were all lugged, there were no sliders.

I hate say it, but I am sure that I have seen the winner bidders ID beat me more than a few times lately.

As mentioned, the slider is wrong and at the risk of sounding like a broken record, these badges are made in the form of the officer's badge which is different from the EM badge so it's wrong in pretty much every sense. Aged or not, these badges should not fool anyone as there is more then enough examples of original badges on the internet and in books.

It’s now the highlight of someone’s collection! Very unfortunate.

Yes, unfortunate but easily avoided. I guess some people need to get burned before they learn the value of research. This is one of those items that could have been researched very easily.

Fortunately the listing says 'returns accepted'. I hope your friend takes him up on that and fires this back to him for a full refund. The seller is welcome to climb on to this forum to get confirmation of the fact that this is not a WWII badge if he likes.

And when in doubt, put lugs on this junk instead of a slider; maybe it will move better. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/100-GENUINE-W...-/111047965083

That seller already moved more junk, including another 1canpare cap badge (see items 400438275785, 400438249397, 110996815667, 111038624553 and 400439422753)
