Canadian Airborne Forces
I thought I would start this forum off with a post about Canadian Airborne Forces insignia. Below is some insignia I have in my collection and thought they may be of interest.

Garry, thanks for posting these. The Canadian Airborne is my personal favourite and I proudly wore my Canadian wings on my chest.I look forward to seeing more.
The bad news... The Capbadge is a repro. The tell tale even without feeling the badge is the chute, The faint back of the chute in your badges case. It should be bold and unmistakingly the rear edge of the canopy. Still a nice display filler. The WWll wing... Mmmmn a well known fantasy piece baring little resemblance to original WWll wings. Without examination of the threads used the Battalion Shoulder title may be genuine as numerous tailors made versions for the best BD. If you got it at the same place as the previous 2 then probably repro. The Airborne title actually looks good. However If its on anything other than Dark Green Melton cloth its repro. |

I'll show you the back of the ones in question. I can confirm that the airborne title is on dark green cloth, but forgive my ignorance, I don't know what 'Melton green cloth' is.

Welcome to the board Dwayne. Beautiful examples of scarce badges. Could you post images of the backs for reference?

Guess what I found!
On an off chance I went to a local coin show yesterday and came across this beauty. I'd have fallen off my chair, except I was standing p at the time. The photos don't do this badge justice, but my hands are still shaking. I added the back view so you can see the bi-metal attachments and maker mark, "SCULLY LTD MONTREAL"

Hey Dave, Don't bother buying any 649 tickets. You have already hit the jackpot. Fantastic find. Officer's 1 Cdn Para badge.

If you mean the WW2 badges, no. The plethora of 'found in an attic/house clearance/my da's 900-year-old badge collection...' white metal/gilding metal/copper/brass slidered para badges are all bogus.
