Some more to view
Couple more pages and he did put captions on most if not all his photos in both albums which is great.

Thanks for sharing these. Have you researched the names?
For example Darcy Reeve (died in an accident 1916, Hounslow) has quite a bit on Rutland Memorial, eg darcy reeve.JPG EDIT not sure if this is the same man because Bucheister didn't leave Australia till 1918 so maybe inherited some of these photos? And Cadet Pillow's death in a flying accident August 1918, Gloucestershire is detailed here on Flickr And Cadet Needham's death in a flying accident April 1918, Gloucestershire is detailed here And Cadet Stronach's death in a flying accident July 1918, Gloucestershire is detailed here And Lt Syd Fry's death in a flying accident August 1918, Gloucestershire, is detailed here These Gloucestershire accidents were from Leighterton Airfield, near Tetbury. There is an interesting film clip here (cant get link to work so here is the detail of the BBC site) Leighterton.jpg Fascinating to read the stories behind the men. Jackhr,
Thank you for posting those. Great photos! It's sad so many of these poor bastards died in flying accidents. |
