Default 1 CAN PARA capbadges officers OR's on ebuy

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...fvi%3D1&_rdc=1

If you have about $5,000.00 burning in your pocket you could get all of the
1 CAN PARA badges all at once. He has two brass OR, one plastic/bakelite, one officers and a pair of officers collars. For some reason he has seperated the pin from the plastic badge in two seperate auctions, why? who knows?

I don't like his statement of "all other badges are reproductions" there are still original badges from time time on ebuy once in a while.

Interesting set of badges for sure.

What Chris is saying is that the usual Canparas you see are fakes -- the large, voided type (top, in the photo) which, as he says, are whacked out from the old officer type die. Don't think he meant to imply that his four listings are the only originals out there. I made up a pic to explain this to a guy from another forum, and am attaching. Bottom left in the pic is a minty Birks-made CanParas I just picked up on eBay. I won't make you cry by saying what I paid for it.

He's just maximizing his sale price/profit. Lots of the plastic badges out there without the pin or with broken pins... he'll likely see a third the price of the badge just for the bloody pin.

Though his asking prices might be a tad high, interesting to see what these all sell for (if they sell).

The seller is a dominant authority on Canadian badges ... has written several books on Canadian badges and is in the process of trying to finish another... yes... he prices high but he knows the rarity of what he has...and you don't have any worries or authenticity... I have bought from him before and he is a pleasure to deal with.... all those badges to the CanParas in one fell swoop wouldn't be that bad of a thing.... Just don't tell the wife.... Jim

Yabut, one of the pin retainer tabs is broken. Probably only get 2/3rds the price of the badge that way

The plastic badge and officer's badge are fair prices from what I've seen in the past..... the OR badges might be a little high but are definitely real and I'm sure it won't be long before they are selling for that price anyways.

I'm assuming that people are waiting till the last moment to bid...???

Officers cap US$1175.00
Collars US$811.00

Not bad.

I was about to enter the bidding on the Officers Badge and the collars....my wife caught me so they went a little lower to the winner. If the winner is a member here, congrats.

Chris has had some beautiful items lately.

I bought my officer's cap, collars, canvas 1Can Para flash, Pr Canvas Div Flashes, Melton Airborne/Canada, Airborne strip, Gold Loop and wing for less than the price of the collars. Twenty years ago!
All with provenance!
Will post some day.

Phil
