Default Sussex Button

Hi Tarabelle,

The Royal Sussex button is either for mess dress or headdress, depending on its size and whether it is brass/gilding metal or bronze.

As far as I can recall, for mess dress, buttons were mounted and for cap, they were die struck. I cannot remember if this changed at some point after 1911 though.

KR,

Pete

The construction of the silver button is typical of a classic, mess waiters livery button.
