Canadian (and other) Badges for ID

Hi All,

I've just picked these up as part of a job lot but have no idea what they are, can anyone help ID them please?

Now I've photographed them I can see No 3 is the Royal Montreal Regt but I don't know anything about them.

The Canadian ones aren't really something I collect so I'll probably be moving them on.

I've just ID'd number 3:

Le Régiment de Maisonneuve is a Primary Reserve infantry regiment of the Canadian Forces. The regiment is Canada's twenty-sixth most senior reserve infantry regiment, and comprises one battalion serving as part of the Canadian Army Reserves.

and number 2:

The 12e Régiment blindé du Canada (a translation of its former name, the "12th Canadian Armoured Regiment") is a Canadian Army armoured regiment based in CFB Valcartier, on the outskirts of Quebec City. The regiment has both a Regular Force and a Primary Reserve unit. The 12e Régiment blindé du Canada's abbreviation is 12e RBC.

In the Regular Force regiment, A and B Squadrons operate armoured cars, such as the Coyote and Kodiak vehicles. A and B squadrons are currently designated as light armoured squadrons. Each squadron is currently organized into four troops. C Squadron, 12e RBC is equipped with the Leopard 2 tank, and is located at CFB Gagetown as part of C Squadron, the Royal Canadian Dragoons.

The Royal Montreal Regiment is a Primary Reserve Infantry regiment of the Canadian Army based in Westmount, Montreal, Quebec. It is part of the 2nd Canadian Division's 34 Canadian Brigade Group.

Sometimes you can 'google' for hours or post on here and someone immediately knows the answer . If it's not your 'speciality' you can bet it is someone else's.

Just a note. The 12é Regt Blindé was stood up as a regular force regiment in 1968. It was the Three Rivers Regiment in the Second WW with the designation 12 Canadian Armoured Regiment. After the war the name was changed to the French designation, Régiment Trois Rivieres.

Hi Michael

Also WRT the 12e RBC, (jokingly "12 Rubber Boot Company", in our Corps!) they stopped wearing a metal capbadge going on 20 years now.

They now wear a Bullion wire of the same design for both Offrs and non-commissioned members with the difference being the colour of the beaver.

Do your Canadian badges have Gaunt markings on the sliders?
Quite a few Gaunt made QC Canadian badges started turning up in the UK in the 1970s, but were seldom encountered in Canada.

And it had a very fine record in WWII. Took part in the Sicily landings and the Italian campaign, then shifted to NW Europe in March 1945.

Yes Phillip, all 3 of them are marked.
