Could someone explaine the difference between cast RSG pouch and NCO's arm badges?

Michael

Here is a White Horse of Hannover - a Royal Scots Greys' bearskin back badge. How do you think, is it really of the RSG or a one worn in full dress today by the RSDG?

... and that one - for me it's not a re-strike. All bagdes here in that thread are different, what are the reasons to find out if it would be genuine or not ... would it be a game like sucking from the little finger ?

... the third in posting #12 looks like a 'sitting duck'
..

Gentlemen, what do you think about this bearskin badge? Is it genuine?

Michael,
the last one you have linked to is not an RSG Busby badge, but an NCO's arm badge for the 5th DG's. Different posture & tail, etc. The style of the earlier link you supplied ,is more correct.
I have one the same as this last one, sturdy enough, but am not 100% happy with it !
Cheers !
Steve

PS: Pouch badges are more likely to have screw fixings than lugs.

Thank you, Steve!
As I posted before the RSDG with full dress still wear the White Horse of Hannover on the bearskin's back. Is there some difference between badges of the RSDG and these of the Greys? Could you please post the photo of your bearskin badge or send it to my e-mail hussar1855@hotmail.com ?
Cheers,
Michael

Your posts......#22 ,this style of horse,is the SG's Busby badge type
#25 ,this style of horse, is the 5th DG's NCO's arm badge type( it is one of these, that I have !)

Cheers !
Steve

hello,
I was in the Scots DG and wore the full dress uniform once, and managed to keep hold of the horse badge (as you do!!), and it is the same as the one on your pic, even the lugs, hope this has been of some help,

Regards 3dg

A pic of the back would be nice but it looks (from the front) and sounds
(the 3 lugs) very like the one I have - which I got tested by a local
jeweller and it was (in their opinion) totally cast silver - not silvered or
silver plated - they suggested that it could have been 'Indian silver'.

David,
I'm sorry, but I can't post a photo a of the back, because the badge is firmly attached to the board. But it's not made from silfer, it's sure, it's only silvered.
regards,
Michael
