Default 1rst Mounted Rifles

I have just acquired this badge.. I have'nt been able to find it in any of my reference books... is it a cap or collar?

Default Shoulder title

Hello Jim, The item is shoulder title for the 1st Mounted Rifles. Is that a Tiptaft maker mark on the reverse?

Bill... yes it's marked tiptaft b'ham...I knew it was to big for a collar but never thought of a shoulder... the light goes on... this should be WW1 ... yes?

Hi Jim, Yes, WW1 CEF. The titles came in facing pairs.
