Hidden behind the backing paper was a letter from 1988 (see photo).

Splendid find thanks for sharing Simon. Not a KC or slider in sight I guess either. Is the Yorkshire Regt on the RHS all WM as it appears or with a GM centre as there are a high proportion of WM badges, cheers Dean.

Thanks for all the replies gents, a splendid item indeed and from auction recently as some of you saw.

My other lots still havent turned up and I feel that by now they wont ever appear. I shall watch the internet for the few amongst them that at recognisable.

The frame did indeed cost a lot of money but there were badges within it that I wanted and in order to recoup my outlay I am afraid I have to split it and sell on the others.

If I was rich enough I would love to just stick it on the wall but alas I am not.

To answer your queeries, yes, thats a CLB badge, not sure why thats there.

I will photograph the Coldstrean Guards badge for Andy soon.

One question I do have is in relation the the Leicestershire Regiment badge without top scroll. Its on loops and NEVER had a top scroll. I thought this was a post 1908 TF badge? This is earlier on loops but no scroll? Any ideas?

The TF badge was from 1908. However the TF were not constrained by the ACD's direction on standardising vertical shanks for cap badges so they could have had them made with lugs. I have never seem an exmaple myself but they could exist.
