Hi all,
A recent pick up. A 1st Volunteer Battalion, The Leicestershire Regiment two piece OR's WM waist belt clasp on its original brown leather belt. The white buff leather belt was I believe standard for the volunteer battalions prior to 1902-05 and the introduction of khaki service dress. This could be a later version circa 1903-1908 or earlier for wear in the South African War. Regards Dean |

Hi Dean
I've just found one very similar with the same 3 lions insignia whilst clearing out my Dad's house. It was with a number of family objeda so I'm assuming it's from a relative. I've been looking for details of the time period it would have been issued. I thought that the Leicestershire 1st Vol.Battn insignia changed in 1902 ( other posts on this forum) to the Tiger, but I'm only a beginner at this type of research ![]() I'll post a picture later Cheers Jim |

Hi Jim,
Be interested in seeing it thanks. I will dig out my dates but pre-1908 for Volunteer Battalions. Tiger introduced in 1896-8 for regular battalions but need to check for VBs. Cheers Dean |
