Didn't they scrap the midnight blue patrol dress? All the surplus is being scrounged by militia regiments and cadet corps as it beats getting them tailored.

For a few years RMC eliminated all distinct milcol uniforms excepts for scarlets, so cadets wore their elemental service dress uniforms on a daily basis. Around five years ago, they reintroduced CMC #4 (blue patrol) and #5 (class dress). Unforunately, with class dress they did not return to the blue battledress blouse, but instead opted for the RCN vee neck sweater.

Don't you just hate those logistik sweaters? Pure lint, pills after one wear.

I never cared much for wearing sweaters in uniform, so I think I only wore the new one once. The previous cable knit one looked better, and the old green crew neck one was even better, except for the colour. The urban myth as to why the navy went for vee neck was so the C&POs could get their cigarettes out of their shirt pockets more easily.
