Hi,
I want to put a small group together consisting of the Green jacket Brigade badges, Ox & Bucks, KRRC, RB Guelphic. Would the AA badges be apt for this and if so would a plastic KRRC be suitable? Ry Last edited by Alan O; 26-09-10 at 05:16 PM. |

Ry,
The QC plastic KRRC is extremely expensive (if you can find one). http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...pictureid=3843 Last edited by Alan O; 26-09-10 at 05:16 PM. |

This is my one. I think they were worn in the mid 50s by the Bn before they 1958 changes and not worn by any TA Bn as the London TA regts were wearing other badges. I would need to check this but they are very hard to find. If you wanted to show the badges worn by the Greenjacket's bde predecessors then it should be there but as Keith says they are very expensive. |

That's frightening,
It may be easier to go for a green jackets grouping from an earlier period for the time being. Thanks gents. |

According to Militaria Magazine article's list of plastic badge production figures only 3500 were ordered in July 1953. Even if the KRRC were among the regts still using up plastic k/c badges post war, then I can't imagine they were any more popular.
There were 3 TA Bns linked to the KRRC but they all had their own design of badge. |

Hi again,
Many thanks for the info gents I hadn't paid any attention to the QC plastic badge apart from a wish to put together the Green Jacket Bde group at some future date. Not appreciating how scarce they are until this thread informed me, I skippped past one online somewhere recently and what could have been a start price didn't do anything to cause me any alarm. The KRRC as part of my Rifle Brigade / Green Jacket interest are a Regiment that I intend to build on as far as collecting, I currently have two KK2011's and have my eyes open for one without the Ladysmith honours. I also have a QVR KK1828 unvoided centre. I have had difficulty with deciding on a good Queens westminsters and although I consider The Rangers badges a desireable addition, again I'm put off so far by the possibility of a fake. I have also recently purchased a 1st Cadet Bn badge (collar / Fsc) sized. How does the KK2420 QRR badge fare in the rarity stakes? Last edited by Charlie585; 26-09-10 at 07:20 PM. |

I found a QE2 KRRC in an antique shop for 3 pounds. I didnt buy it because I thought it was junk. I told badge collecting John from Nottingham about it and he went bezerk. They were even considered valuable back in 1995.

The QRR badge has been widely faked. I would look for one without a Gaunt Bham mark.

The London Regiment units wore standard KRRC cap badges and titles for most of WW2. I'm not sure what was being worn at Calais, but standard KRRC badges were being worn from at least 1941.
