Kindly assist with info
Greetings all - I bought this South African Field Artillery with the letter "B " . It is made of sheet brass and has ring lugs. 55mm x 30mm. I assume it was 1st World war as there is a mention in Tyldens book of a SAFA unit in 1915. Nothing in Owens or Cursons books. Has anyone seen one of these and if so, do you have any info on the "b" part

The most logical explanation would be the title worn by "B" Battery. The South Africans would also have a corresponding title ZAFA title for the other side, as Afrikaans was also an official language. Just a thought.

Very nice title, a B battery title sounds plausible.
