Default Another Indian Badge for Identification Please

Am slowly identifying various Indian badges with the assistance of Forum Members and Albums however I can't find an identification for this one.
I assume worn by one of the Princely State armies, appears to be silver plated with two loop fittings to the reverse.

Any information greatly received and wont be offering for sale.

Regards Simon.

Hi Simon

It's a cap badge to the Headquarters Staff of the Hyderabad state forces. I believe that Hyderabad were the only state to issue separate badges to their Headquarters staff. I don't suppose you have any Gurkha badges amongst your collection ?

Tim,

Many thanks for the identification, no Gurkha badges among the collection I've just found, going through them they appear to be Princely State and just post Independence Indian Army badges.

Regards, Simon.

The Hyderabad State Forces were, I'm pretty sure, the largest such contingent and included infantry, cavalry, engineers and a transport corps and maybe even some gunners and a camel unit.

Pity that the common factor in all the bdges is the less-than-lovely crown/hat/truban at the top of the badges. But it does make them easier to I.D. And this one must be fairly rare!

Peter,

Many thanks for that, the representation of the Crown or Turban is odd, I always think it looks similar to a Bishops mitre which it most definitely is not!

Simon.
On this page Hyderabad State you can see a black/white photograph of the headdress in use by the Nizam (scroll a bit down).
