James,
they're both period fakes! Probably c.1970's onwards

Knocked out by a bloke in Birmingham and sold by the pile in Birmingham's Rag Market on a Saturday and the "Collectors' Market" there on a Monday.

Same person?
Definately same badges.

VERY dishonest and if proven to be the same seller then not the sort of person who should be allowed on this site!!!

Let's not be to hasty to judge, maybe James moved them on after being told they were fake.
I think he should be given the chance to explain as they do appear to be the same badges shown in the original post.

They do look to be the very same repro badges posted at the start of the thread? If the seller is the same author of the thread, then "Shame on you", but let's hope that readers of this thread will avoid biding!

Not the Forum at its best, but there are less respectable people all around us!

I agree with Malc, give jamesmilitaria a chance to explain before drawing conclusions.

I think we tend to forget that despite the large number of collectors and dealers in our hobby, it is actually a very small world that we are part of.

Gentlemen

Some of you may have seen that I've been working my way through a large collection and all that have been given the thumbs up have been offered for sale here. Just sent a nice Kings badge WW1 vintage to a happy fellow collector. You can find the thread easily enough in the Infantry section.

The duffers and there have been quite a lot, have all gone into a big bag and were sold at a local auction house last week as copies with some other bits and bobs.

If those are mine the guy is a thoroughly disreputable person as they were clearly sold as copies.

Interestingly enough he isn't selling any of the other badges so maybe someone has already moved these two onwards

James,

Glad to hear its not you, because as Frank says it does regrettably happen.

LOL indeed Simon,
Only the other day a comedian here continues to describe and sell spurious wings as "WW2" and "Used" despite being told, by more than one member, that they were the most crude and obvious copies around.
Oh dear.
Kind regards Frank
