Default Army Medical Service

late Victorian officers Army Medical Service field service cap with gilt AMS buttons (sorry that pic is sideways) and lovely bullion badge. please note it has red glass bead eyes, lovely imo.

Is the badge unique to the officers of the AMS or was it used by other Victorian officers?

It appears to have been embroidered directly onto the cap rather than sewn on as a separate badge. Is that correct?

regards

That's a nice cap, a nice looking badge despite the nothing.
I have a Kings Crown badge with glass eyes - or rather one glass eye, the others missing.
The badge is fitted to a cWWI Staff Officer's cap.

Lovely, none of my others appear to have obvious glass eyes
